Technics SL-PD8 high-quality 5-disc rotary CD changer from the late 1990s, presented here in a distinctive custom black and gold finish. A practical and attractive classic Technics component combining multi-disc convenience with the brand’s well-known MASH digital audio technology.

The SL-PD8 uses a 5-disc rotary carousel system, allowing several CDs to remain loaded and selected individually from the front panel. Its convenient Disc Skip and direct-disc selection functions make it ideal for long listening sessions and complete vintage Hi-Fi systems.

Technics equipped this model with its MASH 1-bit digital conversion system. Factory specifications include a frequency response of 2 Hz to 20 kHz, 92 dB dynamic range, 100 dB signal-to-noise ratio and total harmonic distortion of only 0.007%, providing clean and detailed CD playback.

The player provides standard stereo RCA analogue outputs together with a digital optical output, making it suitable for direct connection to a conventional amplifier or for use with an external DAC or compatible digital audio system.

This particular example has a striking custom gold-finish front section contrasting with the original black Technics chassis. It gives the player a much more exclusive appearance while retaining the original controls, display and characteristic late-1990s Technics design.

This is the European-market version. The rear identification plate specifies AC 230–240 V, 50 Hz operation and 9 W power consumption, so no external voltage transformer is required for normal use in Spain and most European countries.

The SL-PD8 measures approximately 430 mm wide, 125 mm high and 374 mm deep and weighs approximately 4.5 kg. Its full-size 430 mm format allows it to integrate perfectly with classic Technics amplifiers, tuners, cassette decks and other standard Hi-Fi separates.

The unit has been carefully inspected and serviced by our specialized TechnoGold technical team. The CD loading mechanism, rotary carousel, playback functions, controls and audio outputs are checked and tested before shipment to ensure correct operation.
