The CDP-X7ESD was Sony’s reference single-chassis CD player, incorporating advanced technology developed for the legendary CDP-R1 and DAS-R1 separates. Its extraordinary construction, sophisticated digital architecture and beautifully engineered transport place it among the most desirable vintage CD players ever produced.

At its heart are two selected Burr-Brown PCM58P-S 18-bit multibit converters, one dedicated to each channel. These are combined with Sony’s CXD1244 45-bit digital filter, 8-times oversampling and Digital Sync circuitry, providing precise timing, extremely low jitter and a remarkably natural, detailed and musical presentation.

The renowned Sony KSS-190A optical mechanism employs linear-motor tracking, an aluminium die-cast base and an advanced floating suspension system. This exceptionally robust transport provides fast access, quiet operation and excellent disc-reading stability.

Construction quality is remarkable. The CDP-X7ESD features a heavily reinforced copper-plated FB chassis, separate digital and analogue circuit boards, two large power transformers, twin-mono analogue stages, premium components, Fine Ceramic anti-vibration feet and genuine wooden side panels. Its impressive 17 kg weight demonstrates the uncompromising engineering behind this model.

This particular unit has been thoroughly inspected, serviced and extensively tested by TechnoGold’s specialized technical team. The original Sony RM-D770 wireless remote control is included and has been fully tested. This is an important and increasingly difficult-to-find accessory, allowing access to additional programming, repeat, shuffle, fading and Custom File functions.

The rare XLR section uses dedicated output transformers, making this model particularly attractive for serious high-end systems.
