Pioneer SA-8900II / SA-9500II Vintage Amplifier Serviced 110/120V or 220/240V
Discover the Pioneer SA-8900II, the Japanese-market version of the internationally marketed SA-9500II, sharing its core design, dual-mono construction and performance specifications. Introduced in 1976, this classic integrated amplifier combines substantial engineering with the unmistakable appearance of Pioneer’s golden era.
This unit has been thoroughly inspected and serviced by TechnoGold’s specialised technical department and is working perfectly. It has undergone the necessary checks and adjustments to ensure correct operation and is ready to be enjoyed in its new home.
Our technical department has professionally modified this amplifier to operate on 110/120V or 220/240V using a voltage selector switch. Before dispatch, we will configure it for the mains voltage of the destination country. The original 100V marking on the rear panel refers to its Japanese factory specification, prior to our modification.
The SA-8900II delivers 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 100 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with both channels driven from 20Hz to 20kHz. Rated harmonic distortion is just 0.05% at full output, providing powerful, clean reproduction with suitable loudspeakers.
Its impressive dual-mono power supply features two separate power transformers, one for each channel. This carefully engineered construction is one of the model’s most appealing features and contributes to its substantial 16.2kg weight.
For vinyl enthusiasts, two moving-magnet phono inputs offer adjustable cartridge loading, with selectable resistance and capacitance. These controls allow the phono stage to be matched to different MM cartridges and provide convenient connectivity for two turntables.
Additional connections include Tuner, AUX and two tape-monitor loops. Separate preamplifier outputs and power-amplifier inputs, joined by removable rear links, allow either section to be used independently with compatible audio equipment.
The comprehensive controls include main and secondary bass and treble adjustments, tone bypass, loudness, low- and high-cut filters, balance and −20dB muting. A front headphone socket and A/B speaker selection add further flexibility for everyday listening.
Technical specifications include a line-input frequency response of 5Hz–50kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 95dB for line inputs and 75dB for phono, and dimensions of approximately 420 × 150 × 376mm (W × H × D). The amplifier weighs approximately 16.2kg.
The brushed aluminium front panel, substantial metal controls and distinctive oversized volume dial make this amplifier an attractive centrepiece for a vintage Hi-Fi system. Please examine the photographs carefully for its cosmetic condition and any age-related marks. It will be securely packed for shipping and supplied with the voltage selector correctly configured for its destination.
